What to Expect For a Maternity Session
When should I schedule my Maternity Session?
I like to photograph my maternity clients sometime between 28 & 34 weeks. I have done maternity shoots as late as 39 weeks. We don't want to do a photo shoot too soon, as your bump needs to show while laying down, as well as standing up.
How long is the session?
As with all of my sessions, you can choose a Mini Session (20 minutes), a Full Session (60 minutes) or multiple sessions. Your session can be done in the studio, or on location, depending on the look that we are going for. Sessions can be as simple or as complex as you would like. On location sessions are typically shot 1 or 2 hours before sunset.
Can I have my children, or the baby's father, in some of the poses?
Absolutely! I encourage making this event a family affair. I love to capture moments with the family. This allows everyone to feel that they are truly part of the pregnancy. There is no extra fee for adding family members.
Do you provide clothing for maternity sessions?
I offer a selection of fabric and maternity dresses. I recommend bringing 2 or 3 outfit changes, with form-fitting shirts that highlight your belly being the most flattering. Colorful fabrics are perfect for outdoor settings. I also have a passion for maternity gowns, with a variety available in my studio. You can explore most of them in the Maternity Gallery, where about 95% of the gowns are part of our studio collection. If you're not finding what you want, depending on the gown you purchased, we offer a Buy Back Program if you decide not to keep it.
Do you provide hair and/or makeup before my maternity session?
I don't specialize in hair and makeup myself, but I collaborate a talented hair and makeup artist. If you're interested, please let me know when you book, and I’ll gladly share her contact information. You can then coordinate a time to meet with her before your maternity session.
