THE ARTIST — About Sandy Hunt
Photographer. Wife. Mom. Believer. Storyteller.
As long as I can remember, I’ve loved photography. I was that girl who always had a camera in her hand—capturing everything I found beautiful in this world. What started as a simple hobby has grown into a full-time career that allows me to combine my creativity, my love for people, and my heart for family.
After high school, I went on to college and eventually pursued real estate. I became a full-time Realtor in 2000 and loved it. I was honored to serve as President of the Santa Rosa County Board of Realtors in 2007 and was named Realtor of the Year in 2005. But even during those busy years, my heart kept pulling me back to photography.
When the market slowed and I had my boys, I decided to make a change—one that allowed me to spend more time at home while following the dream I’d always carried. What began as a small hobby grew into Sandy Hunt Photography, and by 2015, I moved my real estate license to inactive and pursued photography full-time.
MY STUDIO
Today, I’m based near Crestview, Florida, where my husband Tom and I built our dream studio on our family’s 22-acre property. My indoor studio is fully equipped with professional lighting and gear because I believe there’s a time and place for shadows—and wrinkles isn’t one of them! Years of experience have taught me how to use light to flatter, soften, and create the classic, polished portraits my clients love.
Right outside my studio doors is my outdoor studio area—and it’s a photographer’s playground. I’ve built multiple themed setups filled with old trucks, rustic windows and doors (including a few straight from New Orleans), vintage Coke machines, a clawfoot tub, wide oak trees, open fields, and more.Whether you want timeless and elegant or bold and creative, we can create it right here on our property.
WHAT I PHOTOGRAPH
I specialize in seniors, newborns, maternity, sports, schools, families, and beach portraits, but what I truly love is photographing people. I’m a firm believer that God puts people in our path for a reason, and over the years, He has filled mine with so many wonderful families, teachers, coaches, and kids who have become dear friends.
HUNT HILL MEDIA
As Sandy Hunt Photography continued to grow, so did the school and sports side of my business. What began with photographing athletes and local teams grew into media days, school photography, sports portraits, banners, special-effects images, and volume photography. That growth led me to create Hunt Hill Media, the school and sports division of Sandy Hunt Photography. It gives that part of my business its own identity while still carrying the same experience, quality, creativity, and personal service I’ve built my photography business around.With Hunt Hill Media, my goal is to give schools and teams something beyond the traditional picture day. I provide the classic photographs families expect, but I also love creating the dramatic images athletes get excited about—creative lighting, smoke, special effects, and full media-day experiences. For schools, I want picture day to be organized, efficient, and easy for administrators, teachers, coaches, parents, and students. Whether I’m photographing a preschool, an entire school, or a varsity team, I want the experience to be just as good as the photographs. Sandy Hunt Photography is where it all began. Hunt Hill Media is where my love for schools, sports, and high-volume photography gets to have a brand of its own.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
When I’m not photographing, I’m usually working on something. I’m a DIY girl through and through. I might be building, painting, or planting something new to keep my Granny’s love for flowers blooming around our pool.
And like most moms of teenagers, I’m usually running ninety to nothing, balancing work, school, sports, and everything in between. When I do slow down, I’m probably dreaming up our next travel adventure with my crew.
At the end of the day, I’m just like every other mom trying to keep up—but incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love every single day.I don’t take lightly the trust families place in me, because these photographs aren’t just pictures. They’re legacies, frozen moments, and reminders of how blessed we are. “I believe in good manners, good lighting, and good people and I treat every client like family."
